Blog Posts  

Note: Two Options (depending on the Grade Level you wish to obtain)

Blog post #4: Individual final reflection (approximately 250 words) is required for Level A, B, C Grading optionsBlock posts #1, #2, #3 are required for Level A Grading only. I suggest you use the guiding questions under **Blog Entries to help you complete this task.

  • use proper language and tone
  • focus on the purpose, audience, context, and tone (PACT)
  • align each blog page with the course requirements and guidelines
  • edit your posts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, and structure

You will use your Project Blog to write about the process of completing your group project:

  • what the topic is
  • how you identified it
  • why your group made this decision
.

The project will be completed as a group. The 
four blog entries will be done individually (two options). You and your peers may choose any platform. I created this one in Blogger (free platform) using Blogspot as my free domain. My blog is hosted by Google and the domain default is BlogSpot. For additional information, click on the GoogleSupport page (adapted from Wikipedia entry).

Blogging

Option 1: required to obtain Level A Grading Option

Note: post your choice for Option 1 or Option 2 in the Discussion Forum in your Group Forum

You will use a separate post for each blog entry (add a new post by clicking on the upper left). 

You and your group members will choose Option 1 or Option 2 for this assignment. The complete assignment (not including the individual reflection) is due before Week 10. Each group member will individually post a final reflection (blog post #4) to be marked 'Complete/Incomplete' on the four blog entries (Option 1 - two entries per group member (post #4 is required and one more of your choice. Option 2 - only the reflection is required (post #4). 

Give a title to each post as Blog Post #1, #2, #3, #4 followed by the topic (see titles under **Blog Entries below).

In order to maintain Student Agency (you have a choice and a voice), you and your team members have two choices for this four-post blog assignment.

OPTION 1: Level A

  • Each member of your group will choose a platform and create a blog
  • Only one of the first three blog posts will be your responsibility
  • Each blog post consists of one part and #3 has two parts
  • Blog post #4 is required by all group members
  • All entries must be properly edited for mechanics (spelling, punctuation, capitalization) and structure (parts of speech, connectors, topic sentence)
Note: you may share your posts for feedback in the Discussion Forum before you publish them in your blog (ensure you meet the deadline for the feedback).

Blog Post suggestion:

  • #1= only one member:  Summary of Proposal and Company Research
  • #2= only one member:  Response to Proposal Feedback
  • #3= only one member:  Progress Update (summary)
  • #3= only one member:  Progress Update (process)
  • #4= requirement for all: Project Reflection - final draft properly edited

#1: Summary of proposal and company research

Describe

  • your group
  • your decision-making process
  • your areas of interest
  • your choice of project format (deliverable*)
  • your vision of your project proposal (content)
*Presentation formats: live or pre-recorded (video / PowerPoint slides with audio)


#2: Response to proposal feedback

Reflect on

  • your instructor's feedback on your proposal
  • your response to the feedback
  • your next steps
  • your revisions and updates based on the feedback received

#3: Progress update

Part 1: Summarize your research

  • where and how you did your research
  • ideas, companies, search criteria (even if not being considered)
  • challenges faced
  • helpful resources
Part 2: Address questions

  • How is the project going? 
  • Are you/your team members behind or ahead of the schedule you created? 
  • How is the report going? 
  • How has your group divided the tasks?
  • How have you/your team delegated the report and presentation work?

#4: Project reflection

Reflect on 

  • process (group dynamics) and product (final report and presentation)
  • timeline and original plan before / during / after
  • goals and assumptions 
  • possible challenges you/your team faced and how you overcame them
  • lessons learned through the research
  • what my team members and I already knew
  • what else we want/need to know as we move forward

Starting Your Blog


Click here to create your blog (Link to Blogger: https://www.blogger.com/about/ ) - as per 2174 course site instructions.

As part of your group project and final grade, you will individually:

  • create a blog (use any free platform)
  • write four entries using proper business-sector communication (PACT model)
  • view the entries of your group members

To get started, just click on the Blogger symbol on the upper left side, click on Posts, and then Add a post. You will also be able to 'view blog',  edit your posts, 'preview' your entries, and save your work. You will then click on 'publish' on the upper right side to enable others to view your work.
